Effective26 August 2026

These Terms of Use set the rules for using Aurora - Mood Surgeon, including AI edits, local projects, in-app coins, and exports. They are written for the way the current app actually works.

By using Aurora

By installing, opening, or using Aurora, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. If you use Aurora for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it.

The app is a creative tool, not a person-identification, medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical service.

A local editor with an optional AI handoff

Aurora lets you import a photo, shape a Mood Field, add KEEP or TRANSFORM anchors, write or dictate an image requirement, request an AI edit, review the result, and save versions locally. The default build uses Agnes AI's agnes-image-2.0-flash image model through an OpenAI-compatible endpoint.

AI handoff: an image and the instructions required for your edit leave the device only after you request generation and accept the in-app data-use consent. The model may return a base64 image or a URL; Aurora decodes or downloads the result, evaluates Mood Match locally, and stores the version on your device.

Use it lawfully and with capacity

You must be legally able to enter these Terms. Aurora is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required where you live. If you are under the applicable age, use Aurora only with a parent or legal guardian's permission and supervision.

You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to your location and your use of generated images.

You bring the source material

You retain your rights in photos, text prompts, masks, and other material you provide ("User Content"). You must have the permissions needed to use and edit it, including permission from people depicted in a photo where required.

You give Aurora a limited, non-exclusive permission to process User Content only as needed to provide the app, send an AI request you initiate, return the generated result, save local project versions, and provide support. This permission ends when the relevant processing is complete, except for copies you keep locally or records a provider must retain under its own policies or law.

Do not upload: material you do not have the right to use, unlawful content, intimate imagery shared without consent, or content that could put another person at risk. You are responsible for the source material and instructions you submit.

Keep the creative space safe

You may not use Aurora to:

  • break the law, violate another person's rights, or evade a safety or moderation control;
  • create or distribute child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, credible threats, or targeted harassment;
  • impersonate a person in a way that deceives, defames, or causes harm, or use an edit to facilitate fraud;
  • reverse engineer, overload, scrape, disrupt, or bypass limits on Aurora, its endpoint, or a third-party provider;
  • send malware, secrets, payment credentials, or highly sensitive information that is not needed for the edit; or
  • use generated output as the sole basis for a high-impact decision about a person.

We may refuse, pause, or limit an action when required for safety, law, provider rules, or service integrity.

Helpful, not guaranteed

AI-generated images are probabilistic. An output may be inaccurate, unexpected, biased, incomplete, or similar to another user's output. Aurora does not promise that an output is original, error-free, suitable for publication, or free of third-party rights.

You are responsible for reviewing every result before using, publishing, selling, or sharing it. Keep a human in the loop, especially when an image could affect someone's reputation, safety, identity, or legal rights.

Subject to your User Content rights, applicable law, and third-party provider terms, Aurora does not claim ownership of an output solely because Aurora helped generate it. You may not have exclusive rights in an output, and a provider may impose additional terms.

In-app purchases

Aurora may offer non-cash, non-transferable in-app coins through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment, verification, taxes, and any refund workflow. Your Apple ID, payment method, and billing relationship are governed by Apple's terms and policies.

What coins doCoins may be spent on AI generation and on certain save, export, or share actions. The amount shown in Aurora at the time of the action controls; the current release may show 100 coins for generation and 10 coins for a result action.
What coins are notCoins are not money, a deposit, a security, or a promise of future value. They cannot be sold, transferred, redeemed, or exchanged except where applicable law requires.
Failed actionsA cancelled or unsuccessful paid action is not intended to consume coins. A completed purchase is recorded only after Apple's transaction is verified.
RefundsRefund requests are handled by Apple and applicable consumer law. Aurora cannot override Apple's purchase records or refund decisions.

You choose where a result goes

Results are saved to the local Vault only when you choose to keep them. Save to Photos, Save to Files, and Share use Apple's system destinations and the recipients or apps you select. Once you send an image outside Aurora, the destination's terms and privacy practices apply.

Keep your own backup of anything important. Clearing the Vault, removing the app, or iOS storage pressure can make a local project unavailable.

Services Aurora does not control

Aurora depends on Apple system services, Apple's App Store and payment verification, and a configured third-party AI image provider. The current default AI route is Agnes AI. If a deployment is configured to use an OpenAI endpoint, OpenAI's terms and data-use policies apply to that provider processing.

Third-party services may be unavailable, change their APIs, reject a request, return a temporary URL, or apply their own retention and safety rules. Aurora is not responsible for a third party's independent acts or policies.

No promise of uninterrupted access

We may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of Aurora, including a model, endpoint, coin package, or feature. We may do so for maintenance, security, provider changes, legal requirements, or product decisions. We will make reasonable efforts to preserve local data during an ordinary update, but local storage is your responsibility.

Use your judgment

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aurora and its services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and that an output will meet your requirements.

Nothing in these Terms removes a right or remedy that cannot be excluded under the law where you live.

Limits where the law allows them

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aurora and its publisher will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of Aurora, an AI output, a third-party service, or an inability to access the app.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising from Aurora will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Aurora for the relevant service in the twelve months before the event or USD 50. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

Respect other people's rights

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and hold harmless Aurora and its publisher from claims, losses, and expenses arising from your User Content, your breach of these Terms, your unlawful use of an output, or your violation of another person's rights.

Stop at any time

You may stop using Aurora and delete it at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create a safety or legal risk, abuse the service, or interfere with its operation. Terms that by their nature should continue - including content responsibility, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions - will survive.

How these Terms work

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the current agreement about Aurora's use. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganization, merger, or transfer of the app.

These Terms are governed by the laws that apply to your place of residence, except where mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise. Any dispute may be brought in a court that has lawful jurisdiction over you or the publisher.

When the rules change

We may revise these Terms when the app, providers, purchases, or applicable law changes. The effective date above will be updated. Continued use after a revision means you accept the revised Terms, except where law requires a different form of notice or consent.
